Earlier this year, it seemed that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would have to look for a starting quarterback after Tom Brady announced his retirement. However, it didn’t take long for the legendary signal-caller to come back.
Brady, who already knows what he will be doing the day he retires despite he doesn’t know when, seemed to be done with football as he wanted to spend quality time with his family.
While many were shocked with his decision, others felt he would change his mind before the 2022 season got underway. For instance, Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow said he wasn’t surprised by Brady’s return.
Joe Burrow says Tom Brady is too good to retire now
“I mean did anybody actually think he was going to be retired?,” Burrow said in an appearance on the Full Send Podcast. “He’s playing way too well to give it up right now. I think he wanted to shut down the conversation, because if he didn’t announce his retirement, everyone would be talking about, ‘is he retiring? Is he not retiring?’ So I think he went ahead and did it to get everyone off his back so he can go think about it.”
Brady‘s return is certainly great news for the league, as his presence makes the 2022 season even more interesting.
