<p>In the NBA, where head coaches come and go often, extended tenure with one club is not always rewarded. However, it is reasonable to assume that some of them deserve the such status.</p>

It appears the league couldn’t go wrong with any of these three coaches winning Coach of the Year.</p>



<h2>3. Mark Daigenault</h2>



<p>The Oklahoma City Thunder probably won’t reach the NBA playoffs this year, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been a successful season. Mark Daigenault should be commended for getting these finished considerably ahead of time.</p>



<p>The squad in question sometimes played without its star player. Not only did they not have Chet Holmgren suit up for them this season, but they also continued to play around with.500-level basketball for most of the year and a spot in the playoffs.</p>



<h2>2. Joe Mazzulla</h2>



<p>Similarly to his predecessor Ime Udoka, <strong><a href="https://news.thesportsdrop.com/nba/top-3-best-players-ever-selected-in-the-nba-draft-second-round-20230326-SPD-3531.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Joe Mazzulla</a></strong> showed immediate coaching prowess. Though the Boston Celtics are perhaps the strongest team in the NBA, he still turned up a good performance.</p>



<p>Since having Mazzulla as their defensive coach, the Celtics have improved. Since he has been around since the last procedure, continuity is guaranteed, and on top of that, he has shown to be an effective manager of people and a catalyst for the team’s revival after a disappointing stretch.</p>



<h2>1. Mike Brown</h2>



<p>The Sacramento Kings are back in the playoffs thanks to Mike Brown, and it’s evident that they aren’t content or finished just yet. Their young players have made progress thanks to the 53-year-old coach.</p>



<p>He has shown his willingness to take a bullet for any of these men, and they have demonstrated their faith in him. Barring a catastrophe, things will remain excellent for the Kings for a very long time.</p>

<p>Despite finding many infractions of club policy, owner Wyc Grousbeck stated Friday that the defending Eastern Conference champion <strong><a href="https://news.thesportsdrop.com/nba/warriors-set-to-re-sign-andre-iguodala-for-his-last-nba-season-2824-20220923-SPD-2824.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Boston Celtics</a> </strong>will not reinstate coach <strong><a href="https://news.thesportsdrop.com/nba/warriors-set-to-re-sign-andre-iguodala-for-his-last-nba-season-2824-20220923-SPD-2824.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ime Udoka</a> </strong>following a months-long inquiry by an independent law firm.</p>



<p>The Celtics will be looking to a young, unproven leader as they navigate this difficult time. After Ime Udoka was suspended for the whole season, president of basketball operations&nbsp;Brad Stevens announced on Friday that <strong><a href="https://news.thesportsdrop.com/nba/nba-news-kyrie-irving-opens-up-on-nets-brutal-loss-to-celtics-last-season-2794-20220920-SPD-2794.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Joe Mazzulla</a></strong> will serve as temporary head coach of the Celtics.</p>



<p>Stevens chose the 34-year-old as an assistant coach in 2019, despite his lack of previous experience, and the Celtics are highly sure that he is the ideal guy for a challenging task.</p>

<p>After two successful seasons as head coach of the Fairmont State men’s basketball team during which they went 43-17, Mazzulla joined the Celtics’ coaching staff in 2019 and has been there ever since. He had previously worked as an assistant at Glenville State. Along with his time spent coaching at the university level, Mazzulla also worked as an assistant with the Maine Red Claws, the Celtics’ G League side.</p>
