Following a first-round exit in the 2021-22 NBA playoffs at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks, Quin Snyder‘s future at the helm of the Utah Jazz looks up in the air.
Of course, his name is on the Los Angeles Lakers‘ drawing board. The Purple and Gold come from an even more disappointing campaign, given they have not even made the postseason.
Having fired Frank Vogel after three seasons, Rob Pelinka and the front office are in the search of a head coach that brings back glory days to LA. But will Snyder be that guy?
Here’s what Quin Snyder thinks about the Lakers’ post
While Snyder could be an extremely interesting hire for the Lakers, the 55-year-old may not be appealed by the opportunity to coach LeBron James and company.
According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, people around Snyder suggest the Lakers are not an attractive destination for the coach. Instead, his future could be on another Western Conference team. “He is more often linked as a possible eventual replacement for Gregg Popovich in San Antonio,” Fischer wrote.
To be fair, it’s not a great moment to take the reins of the Lakers. The front office will have high demands for the new coach, regardless of how complicated improving this roster might be. However, only time will tell what Snyder ultimately decides for his career.
