In the wake of an extremely disappointing season, the Lakers have already made significant changes this summer. First they hired Darvin Ham, then they re-signed LeBron James, and now they traded for Patrick Beverley.
The addition of Pat Bev should fix the Purple and Gold’s problems in defense, while the former Timberwolves’ man can also shoot from the three-point land. Though the team suggested it counts on Russell Westbrook, this could change its plans.
According to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, the Lakers would continue to make changes to their roster. In fact, they are believed to be looking for a new home for Brodie after acquiring Beverley.
Rumor: Russell Westbrook could be traded after Patrick Beverley’s arrival

“Beverley’s arrival makes it more likely that Westbrook will be off the active roster by the start of training camp, either through a trade or the team sending him home a la the Rockets with John Wall last season, according to a source close to the situation.
“Either way, this isn’t the Lakers’ final roster. Another move is coming at some point. They are unlikely to make another deal right away, but the team is still actively pursuing Westbrook deals and other avenues to improve the roster before training camp, according to league sources.”
