The defensive end re-signed with the organization to be a part of their historic first-ever Super Bowl championship squad in Cleveland.

<h2>Why Clowney re-signed with Cleveland</h2>



After going the whole 2020 season without recording a single sack, Clowney made a strong comeback with the Browns in 2019. Sacked nine times in 2021, culminating with 37 tackles, 19 QB hits, and two fumble recoveries as a solid backup to Myles Garrett.

<a href="https:\/\/news.thesportsdrop.com/nfl/super-bowl-champions-list-of-all-time-winners-215-20220503-SPD-215.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Jadeveon Clowney</a> has returned to <a href="https:\/\/news.thesportsdrop.com/nfl/which-is-the-most-valuable-nfl-team-169-20220503-SPD-169.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cleveland Browns</a> for the next season. After his best season in the last three years, Clowney became an unrestricted free agency on March 16 of this year.



A one-year contract worth $11 million has been agreed to between the veteran edge rusher and the Browns, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network‘s Tom Pelissero. 



Rapoport claims that Clowney wanted to return to Cleveland after rejecting $14- to $15-million-per-year multi-year contracts from other clubs.



<h2>Jadeveon Clowney remains at Cleveland</h2>



When it came time to re-sign as a free agent in 2021, Clowney had his eye on a move to the Browns, but he took a year off to play in Tennessee.



Clowney and Myles Garrett became a deadly edge-rushing tandem in their debut season with the Browns, each registering nine sacks, 37 tackles (11 for loss), and two fumble recoveries in 14 games.
