Bronny James grew up playing basketball since it was something his father, LeBron James, and grandfather did. As a youngster, he began training with LeBron, who taught him the fundamentals of the game.
While still a high school junior at Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, California, Bronny is quickly establishing himself as an outstanding athlete. He ranks as the 34th-best talent in the Class of 2023 according to 247Sports.
The ace, born in 2004, is doing the same thing for a nationally rated Sierra Canyon team that his father did when he was a high school junior, 20 years later.
When can LeBron and Bronny start playing together in NBA?
At the NBA Draft, players must be at least 19 years old by the time it is conducted and have graduated from high school at least one year prior to the day of selection.
According to these regulations, Bronny James is eligible for the NBA Draft in 2024, which falls one year after he graduates from high school in 2023. Bronny James would be 20 years old by the start of the 2024-25 NBA season, while his father would be 40 years old in December 2024.
On the other hand, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver had announced in 2019 that he intends to do away with the one-and-done rule. After years of negotiations, Silver and the NBPA had agreed that the change would be implemented within a few years. LeBron and Bronny might play together as early as 2023 if Silver eliminates the restriction before Bronny graduates from high school.
