Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that Donte DiVincenzo has signed a two-year, $9.3 million contract with the reigning NBA champions Golden State Warriors. Even, Shams Charania of The Athletic adds that DiVincenzo’s contract includes a player option in the second year.
This move looks to require the Warriors to spend some of their taxpayer mid-level exceptions according to their cap predicament and the sums cited by Charania. DiVincenzo is a welcome addition to the Warriors after the departure of Gary Payton II to the Portland Trail Blazers.
As a 25-year-old starter for the Milwaukee Bucks, DiVincenzo could easily return to that level for the Golden State Warriors in the future. But he had the worst season of his career last year.

After missing the whole 2021 postseason due to an ankle ailment, the shooting guard returned and shot only 35.1% from the field. Even still, his defense wasn’t quite the same.
At some point during the season, the Bucks traded for DiVincenzo and sent him to the Sacramento Kings, where his minutes were severely restricted in an apparent attempt to reduce his qualifying offer. A qualifying offer was eventually declined by the Kings in favor of signing Malik Monk and dealing for Kevin Huerter.
